Seeds of Faith Garden
As a way to provide fresh produce to our neighbors, we maintain 11 raised garden beds in cooperation with SWEM and Foodlink. Gardeners get a generous share from the harvest as well as vouchers which can be redeemed at our own farm stand as well as other local farm markets. We welcome anyone with an interest in gardening at any level of experience to come and grow with us! Two garden beds are dedicated to children gardening in our neighborhood.
Gather at the Garden
Come Monday afternoons in July and August from 4-6PM to share fellowship, snacks, gardening experience and learn a craft. Children from the neighborhood flock to our yard, but all ages are welcome!
Partners in Faith Farm Stand
Beginning in July, on Thursday evenings from 4-7 pm, we set-up an urban farm stand to sell fresh local produce from Foodlink as well as offerings from our own community garden. Food demonstrations and recipes are a highlight of this weekly event. Come shop, or better yet, volunteer to truly enjoy this weekly connection for the health of our neighborhood.
On the 4th Wednesday of the month, the Foodlink truck arrives at 8am and unloads pallets of fresh produce, surplus food and breads for free distribution to the neighborhood. In partnership with SWEM, we hand out food to over 125 households each month. Volunteers are needed to set up and take down and to staff the food tables. At the end of the month, this helps those on the edge stretch their food dollars.
